A Note from Sara:
“I knew I was destined to be a helper since I was 10 years old. On Sundays, I would volunteer at a senior center and sit with the residents, listening to them tell their amazing life stories, play card games, and show them kindness and attention. I felt such gratitude from knowing I was making a small difference in their lives and bringing a smile to their faces with each visit. A few years later, at age 12, I often watched TV show, called Minor Adjustments, which portrayed a child psychologist, who I immediately wanted to emulate. I was so impressed by his ability to make connections with the kids, using play to build a relationship and help them understand their emotions and how to solve their problems. Little did I know that more than a decade later, I too would be sword fighting in my office with my clients and helping them through their life problems. I am so grateful that I leave work every day with a smile on my face, loving my job, and having such an appreciation for my clients.”
